A huge amount of stress has been lifted off my shoulders! It took six months, but my boss finally realized that he had an employee that wasn't really pulling her own weight.
I started back in January giving him examples of repeated mistakes and other things that weren't being taken care of. Then the other employees started giving him examples. It's acceptable to make mistakes once in a while and then learn from them. Unfortunately she kept making the same mistakes over and over. She wasn't learning. And she lied and made excuses. One day she would understand how to do it, the next she wouldn't. If she did it wrong, it was because "nobody told her how to do it." That was her favorite excuse. She wasn't good at problem solving or staying on top of things. In the accounting world, that's a necessity.
Anyway, she's gone now.
